Rush U17 Coach
N'Garsanet is Guest Speaker at
Congressman
Aaron Schock's annual
Youth Leadership
Summit.
Coach Christelle
N'Garsanet was invited to share her amazing life story and
success through leadership
opportunities
to a packed auditorium of High School students. As one
Rush player who was in attendance
put it; "Her
life story was filled with examples where her character and
leadership qualities allowed
her to overcome
and succeed in different situations. A very admirable
person!"
The Rush
Basketball program is honored to have Coach Christelle
working with our U17 girls and use
her life
experiences to help prepare the girls for the college level,
both athletically and academically.
Great job Coach!

Information regarding Rush
Basketball:
Rush
Basketball is an elite level AAU (Amateur
Athletic Union) girls
program. In two years of AAU competition we
have won
two AAU state championships (U12 in
2011 and U13 in 2010) and multiple USJN
(United States Junior Nationals) tourneys.
Rush
Basketball requires a
serious commitment from both the athlete and
their parents.
Our goal is to develop both
basketball and life
skills of the young ladies in our program
and that can not
happen without buy in from
both the player and parent.
Rush
Basketball will play in a select number of
tournaments that will give the girls the
exposure they need to showcase their
skills
while not overwhelming their summer or
preventing them from participating in other
activities.
We
strongly believe the development of
fundamental skills is deteriorating at all
levels of basketball as noted in the quote
below.
To
prevent this in our program, we insist on
regular attendance at practices and strive
for an appropriate
balance between practice
and game play. We firmly believe players
will not reach their potential by simply
playing in AAU games. Practice and
fundamental skill development is where the
majority of improvement takes place.
Ultimately our goal is to help committed
young ladies reach their highest potential
and prepare them for success at the next
level.
To that end, multiple players on both
our U12 and U14 teams have already received
interest from Division I college programs.

“If you look at a wide variety of AAU
programs nationally, you will find young
kids traveling the country
playing games, and not being able to practice or work on
their games. It is really that simple. While
young kids are busy traversing the country
to play in AAU competitions, they are
spending hour
upon hour running up and down
the court in a helter-skelter atmosphere
where, 95 percent of the time,
they do not
have the ball in their hands. What this does
is cement bad habits -- and habits, good or
bad, are what players revert to under
stress.” Jay
